Winter Foliage Containers Can Spruce Up The Exterior of Your Home!

So the winter has started to set in. Fall is always so beautiful and then the leaves drop off the trees and things tend to look drab, especially the exteriors of our homes. There is a way to spruce up your home by using exterior containers. These containers can be filled with silk or real foliage and should be a reflection of you and your home. The winter containers should blend with the exterior of your home. You can use iron containers that would probably hold up the best, concrete can be used but does have a tendency to crack, and plastic containers are available as well. There is an art to doing this right and you may want to try your hand at it. But if you want an expert to make the containers and the exterior of your home sing, I have the perfect Landscape Architect who is a master at achieving this.

How Do I Organize My Clutter?

I read a very interesting article about clutter which made me think. that you It is a proven fact that you feel better about yourself when the area that surrounds you at home or at work is in an organized fashion. Organized means different things to different people. What I am talking about is everything should have its place. So stop ignoring it or running from it. You may not even realize that this is a sore spot with you. I say attack it. Have someone out to your home that has this expertise and have them help you get your home and sometimes your life in order. If this is of interest to you call me. I can suggest people who will do this. Keep in mind I am talking about closets, desks, mudrooms, basements, bathrooms you name it. There are amazing things that you can do and it will make you feel great!

Iron Spindle Staircase – What a Change

PowerHouse Home Building & Remodeling Consultants has just turned a beautiful foyer staircase into an even better looking staircase by installing wrought iron spindles. What a difference. My client’s home is in Long Grove IL. The home is beautiful to begin with. My client was looking for a change and a more updated look. I referred one of my favorite Vendors to do the job and see for yourself, it is stunning. Once the selection of the spindle was decided upon and designed, the spindle is ordered and finished/painted to the selected specifications, the installation took approximately 3-4 days. I was talking to a real estate agent from Long Grove IL recently about the most desired rooms that new homebuyers are looking for when they consider houses, and I was surprised when she mentioned the popularity of a screen porch. She explained that a screen porch can be the ultimate family hang out. Families can play games, eat dinner and relax together in the porch. A screen porch allows families to be outside and enjoy beautiful weather, but it is unique and valuable because the screen prohibits the entry of the summer mosquitoes and other bugs. Who wouldn’t want one in their home?

A screen porch does not need to be an expensive addition either. There are many builders and remodelers that I work with that can build affordable yet luxurious screen porches. When considering adding or building a screen porch, it is important to take location into consideration. It is most beneficial to build a screen porch adjacent to the kitchen so it is convenient to bring out food.
